Blue Cypress Community Center and Park

Arlington

Blue Cypress Community Center, located in the Arlington area, features tennis courts, soccer fields, softball fields, a paved nature trail, a swimming pool, lake for fishing, 9-hole golf course and a fully equipped kitchen and restrooms. The park has picnic tables, grills and a playground.
Hours of Operation: 8am to 8pm weekdays, 9am to 5pm Saturday.

District II Regional Park

Formerly The Dunes golf course, it is now a multi-activity park with soccer, baseball, and football fields, large open spaces, and the only Frisbee Disc Golf Course in Jacksonville--and a great playground.

Fort Caroline National Memorial

Site of the Visitor's Center for the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve. Site provides history, nature trails, observation decks, scenic overlooks, and docks. Dolphins can many times be seen swimming in the brackish river waters. Ranger-guided Saltmarsh program includes a demonstration of seine net fishing. Call ahead for schedule. Afterwards, stop by the Ribault Monument - a good spot for taking pictures- 1/4 mile up the road from Fort Caroline. Fort Caroline is open 9am-5pm 7 days per week. Junior Ranger activity booklets are now available for kids ages 4-7 and 8-12. Kids who complete the activity booklet will earn a Junior Ranger badge. Estimate 30-40 minutes per site for kids activities.

Home Depot Kids' Workshop

Free "How-To Clinics" designed for children ages 5-12. Offered the first Sat of each month between 9am and 12 noon. Children accompanied by an adult construct projects from pre-fabricated kits. The kits are designed to be both educational and practical. Teaches do-it-yourself skills and tool safety.
